4 AI Tools For Research - Try Now

There were not many artificial intelligence (AI) tools available in the past, or maybe there were many people not aware of them. So everyone has to spend a lot of time doing a literature review and managing their documents, writing the research paper, and then checking for plagiarism. But nowadays, there are many AI tools that you can use to make your life easier and produce the best research possible.

ResearchRabbit

AI Tools For Research – ResearchRabbit

All these tools are my personal recommendations that you can use for free. My first recommendation is ResearchRabbit. ResearchRabbit is an amazing AI tool that speeds up your entire literature review process.

It's like a Spotify for research. Just as we create a collection of music on Spotify & get recommended similar content based on our choices. For ResearchRabbit, we can upload our research papers on a particular topic to create a collection. Based on that it will recommend more relevant & recent research papers. It also shows you a network of research papers, so you can see which papers are most heavily cited and probably read those, or you can explore an author's published works and choose which ones to read.

This way, it helps you conduct a more effective and efficient literature review. The best part is that this tool is absolutely free, and the founders have no intention of making it a paid service. So, you can make the most of this AI tool to conduct a quality literature review.

ChatPDF

ChatPDF

My next recommendation is ChatPDF. ChatPDF allows you to chat with a PDF and get your questions answered. It's similar to ChatGPT, where if you ask a question, it will search the entire web & provide an answer. In the case of ChatPDF if you ask a question, it will search the entire PDF you've uploaded and try to answer it. This is very useful when you're new to a particular research field. When you try to read a research paper, you might not understand it completely due to technical terms or complex language.

In that case, ChatPDF can be really helpful. You can ask it questions to understand what's written in the research paper, and if you don't have much time, it can also summarize the research paper for you in simple words. The best part? This tool is also completely free.

Trinka

Trinka

Another great AI tool I would like to recommend is Trinka. Trinka is more than just a grammar or spelling correction tool because it has been designed specifically with academic writing in mind. It not only catches tricky mistakes in technical and scientific writing but also corrects your sentence structure tone, language usage, and style. Trinka has other features like plagiarism check, citation check, and journal finder but I didn't find them too useful. So I would recommend using it primarily for language checking.

In fact when I uploaded my already published manuscript, it was able to identify up to 200 small mistakes. So in that way, I think it's quite useful. Trinka has two plans available: a free plan and a paid plan. Under the free plan, you can get your document corrected for up to 5,000 words which I think is pretty decent, so you might never even have to use the paid version. So, whenever you've written a research paper, make sure to get it corrected by Trinka.

Consensus

Consensus

Another amazing AI tool I would like to talk about is Consensus. To put it simply, imagine combining Google search with Google Scholar. The product you will get is Consensus. Basically, it is a search engine that uses AI to extract data & provide findings directly from scientific research. If you ask a question to Consensus, it will go through all the peer-reviewed journals & give you an answer.

How is this better? When you ask the same question to Google, it will show you many blogs articles, & even sponsored ads written by marketing teams of different organizations. So, you cannot be sure if the answer you're getting is true or not. On the other hand, the answer you get from Consensus is based on scientific evidence.

As a researcher, this can help you get answers to questions you're confused about understand the topic completely, or ensure that your research is on the right track. The best part? Yes, you guessed it correctly; this is also free.

Plag AI

Plag AI

Last but not least, I recommended another AI tool – Plag AI. Plag AI is a plagiarism checker that uses artificial intelligence.

It has a database of billions of articles and performs a thorough check for plagiarism in your document. It does a real-time check, which means that even if an article was published online just 10 minutes ago, your document would be compared against it for plagiarism detection. Instead of using random online plagiarism checkers, you can run your document through Plag AI for a free plagiarism check. However, if you are submitting your work for a conference or journal publication, it is recommended to use the paid version of the software because it compares your article against a wider database, including scholarly articles.

The cost for this is quite reasonable, as you can get it done for less than $10. This is a better option compared to other AI subscriptions that require monthly or yearly payments, as Pledge AI charges on a per-report basis. It is a great tool for researchers. For your research, you can use Research Rabbit to search for new papers & manage your literature.

If you want to fully understand a topic you can use Consensus to get your doubts clarified. If you cannot understand a particular research paper or want it summarized quickly you can use ChatPDF for this purpose. When you start writing your own research paper you can use StringCard for spelling & grammar checking. Finally, before submitting your paper to a journal, you can use Pledge AI for plagiarism checking.

This way, you can accelerate the research process and publish more papers. If you wish to learn how to write a research paper from scratch, you can join the research paper writing course. No AI tool can teach you that yet. Thank you & best wishes for a fantastic career ahead.
